The Obertura Carabanchel art fair presents the "newest and most accessible" proposals
Madrid, Nov 15 (EFE) -
The Obertura Carabanchel contemporary art fair opened its third edition this Friday, in which 12 art galleries are participating with "innovative and accessible" proposals, according to its organisers.
Over the course of three days, Galería Nueva Carabanchel will host artists from 12 galleries in the area and will present an artistic programme consisting of music, performance and video art.
In addition, the curator Gèrard Zamora will be in charge of the project Obertura de Proximidad, through which three artists will intervene in three local shops in the area. This is an event in support of emerging art in which new artists are presented with the most up-to-date proposals.
The fair aims to introduce the public to contemporary art and collecting through an initiative "of proximity" with only 12 exhibition projects, which facilitates communication with gallery owners and artists.
On the other hand, the curator and designer Alberto Mingote, will take a tour of the urban art and graffiti interventions around the headquarters of Obertura Carabanchel with the objective of making known a neighbourhood that has become the nucleus of the most current emerging art.
Among the prominent galleries participating in this edition are AR Contemporary (Madrid), Beatriz Pereira (Plasencia), Castellá Gallery (Barcelona), CLC Arte (Valencia), OB Contemporary (Madrid), and Tönnhei (Madrid).
