Studio 391 is pleased to announce its first art exhibition of 2018 at The Sea Ranch Lodge.

Inspiration Sea Ranch will feature works by local Sea Ranch artists Paul Kozal and Maynard Hale Lyndon with special guest artist Paul Critchley.

Paul Critchley

Paul Critchley expertly captures space on a flat surface. He is a master of perspective with roots in realism and surrealism. Two of his life size diptych and triptych works painted from Sea Ranch will be featured in the exhibit. These interactive, irregular shaped oil paintings feature themes of night vs. day.

Critchley, who originally hails from England, has lived and traveled extensively for more than half his life throughout Europe and the United States. His travel experiences and devotion to capturing his surroundings greatly influenced his idiosyncratic paintings.

The artist states "My paintings are, for want of a better word, domestic; they're about my surroundings which could easily be yours too; they're about daily life and they're about painting. Breathing, eating and painting."

His numerous works have been the subject of three books. Critchley's paintings have been exhibited in galleries worldwide and international art fairs. He and his wife Helen, are currently staying in Sea Ranch. They reside in Italy.
